Version 1.52 improves the Plug-In behaviour in applications other than Pro Tools (like Spark XL).
The update from version 1.50 to 1.51 fixes some problems with the copy protection, caused by MacOS 9 and the G4 Macs:

Ñ It is now possible to authorize Macs running MacOS 9
Ñ For Challenge/Response authorization, you can now select external harddisks, to keep your TC|MasterX authorization movable.
Ñ Added Pro Tools 5 compatibility.
Changes in Version 1.50 (from 1.0):
Ñ MasterX 1.50 adds compatibility with Digidesign's Pro Tools 24 Mix Card.
Ñ On a Pro Tools 24 Mix Card you can run two instances of MasterX per DSP.
Ñ Dithering is now an integral part of MasterX (22, 20, 18,16, 8 bit).
Ñ The center band's crossover points can now be set as narrow as 1 Octave. This gives you even greater control over the mastering process.
2. Installing the TC|MasterX 1.52 TDM Plug-Ins
Run the TC|MasterX installer on your product CD-ROM and follow the instructions on screen:
(1) First, you╒ll see the 'Welcome Screen'. Please click on ╥Continue╙.
(2) On the Second screen, you╒ll find the license agreement. Before proceeding further, make sure you read, understand and agree to the terms. Then click ╥Accept╙.
(3) The third screen presents you with the ReadMe file (this file) ╨ read it, save it if you like, then click on ╥Continue╙.
(4) Now you╒re ready for the actual installation. Select ╥Easy Install╙. The installer automatically copies the TC|MasterX Plug-In to the proper location on your hard disk, namely the "System Folder:DAE Folder:Plug-Ins" Folder.
TC|MasterX presets are copied to the "System Folder:DAE Folder:Plug-In Settings" Folder
Note: If you would like to install only certain components, you can select "Custom Install" instead of "Easy Install". "UnInstall" will delete the TC|MasterX plug-in from you hard disk.
If you have already installed a previous version of TC|MasterX please make sure to remove it from the "System Folder:DAE Folder:Plug-Ins" Folder.
(5) Now the installation is performed, and you╒ll be presented with the final dialog, saying that installation was successful. Click on ╥Quit╙ and you╒re done!
(6) Don't forget to register and authorize your product.
3. Registration & Support
Don╒t forget to send in your registration card, or to register online at www.tcworks.de!
We recommend on-line registration ╨ this is the fastest and most convenient way for you to get registered. Only registered customers are entitled to product support and updates!
The on-line registration process is easy:
(1) Simply log on to our web-site www.tcworks.de and click on the ╥Registration╙ button in the navigation bar.
(2) Now you will be presented with the product selector. Look for the TC|MasterX package icon in the ╥Digidesign Pro Tools╙ column and click on it.
(3) Now you╒ll see the registration form. Make sure you fill in all fields ╨ only the ones marked with a ╥ * ╙ are optional ╨ and double check if your serial number is correct.
(4) Once you╒re done, click on ╥Submit╙ at the bottom of the registration form. You will see a confirmation of your registration on the screen and receive a confirmation via e-mail.
But of course, you can also fax or write us! Please be aware, that we can not accept verbal registration ╨ it has to be in writing! Check the included support sheet or our web site www.tcworks.de for details on how to obtain customer support!
4. Authorization
TC|MasterX 1.52 is protected against software piracy. Please follow the instructions below to get the TC|MasterX authorized on your system.
You have to get a Challenge/Response authorization directly from TC Works. With the Challenge/Response you won╒t lose authorizations in case of system crashes, hard disk initializations etc. ╨ you simply type in your Response code again.
THIS AUTHORIZATION CAN'T BE MOVED TO OTHER COMPUTERS! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO AUTHORIZE THE COMPUTER YOU WANT TO USE WITH TC MASTERX. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR AUTHORIZATION MOVABLE, YOU HAVE TO AUTHORIZE AN EXTERNAL MEDIUM (external hard disk, ZIP or JAZ medium) VIA CHALLENGE/RESPONSE.
How to get the Challenge/Response authorization?
(1) If you haven╒t done so, run the TC|MasterX Installation from the TC|MasterX CD.
(2) Launch Pro Tools. During startup, you will get the message that TC|MasterX is not authorized, and that you can use it in ╒unauthorized╒ mode for up to 21 days.
(3) Select ╒Authorize╒ to get to the Challenge/Response screen.
(4) Select a hard drive you want to authorize for TC|MasterX. This has to be a drive that is always connected to your Pro Tools system when you want to use TC|MasterX. You can╒t move the authorization to another drive afterwards, so please make sure to select the correct drive! If you want to keep your authrization movable, you have to authorize an external medium like an external hard disk, ZIP or JAZ medium.
(5) Register your product and submit the Challenge Code to TC Works. Press ╥Copy Challenge╙ to copy the challenge string to the clipboard. Of course you could also write the code down. Now register online at www.tcworks.de or send in your registration card. You could also send the response code via e-mail to response@tcworks.de (Please include your name and the TC|MasterX serial number).
If you have internet access from your Pro Tools computer just click on the ╥Web Page╙ button. This is a link to TC Works╒ homepage, where you can register your product online and request your response code.
(6) Usually, you will receive the Response Code within two days after you have registered online. After you have received the code, you need to get to the Challenge/Response screen again (see 2 and 3).
(7) Select the same hard drive as before and enter the Response Code. Now, the ╘OK╒ button will become active (black). Click ╥OK╙ and the product is authorized.
5. Important technical notes
Ñ OUTPUT CLIP INDICATORS: HOW DO THEY WORK?
ATTENTION: The output clip indicators not only display clips in the output stage, but also **internal processing clips**.
Internal processing clips might occur, when you set the Compressor's gains very high.
Please adjust both, the Compressor's low, mid and high gains until no further clips are indicated.
Ñ HOW TO AVOID "INTERNAL CLIPS" (DIGITAL DISTORTION)
As a rule of thumb, make sure that the clipping indicators do not light up!
However, be sure to not set the digital ceiling parameter before you know the levels are fine because this brings the final level down, but can't compensate for
internal clips, which would also be indicated on the output clip meters!
6. Problems?
Ñ If you have problems installing to TC|MasterX make sure that you have enough available space to install TC|MasterX (approximately 1MB).
Repeat the installation procedure and make sure to double-check that your system is compliant with all system requirements.

Note: Do not lose or alter your TC|MasterX disk in any way. You will not be able to complete an installation without it. While not using it, keep the disk write protection locked to avoid any accidents, and store it in a safe place.
